LET’S TALK ABOUT MANAGING ATTORNEY MISBEHAVIOR IN MEDIATION
This CME/CLE course runs from 12:00pm – 2:30pm on Zoom. It provides 2.5 General CME hours and 2.0 General and 2.0* Professionalism CLE Hours. (*Although the FL Bar is requiring attorneys take their course; the Bar approved this course for 2.0 Professionalism hours which can be additional Professionalism or General hours.) Attorneys are expected to act in a manner consistent with Bar Rules and Professionalism Expectations, but many attorneys are either unaware of or indifferent to them, and attempt to hijack mediation through aggressive, offensive, or indifferent behavior. This program introduces the Expectations and blends them with the Mediation Rules and Chapter 44 to help mediators recognize when boundaries have truly been crossed and suggests tools for a mediator to use to remind attorneys of their duty to the Bar and to their clients, intended to restore or establish a positive mediation environment.
