LUNCH ‘N’ LEARN | MEDIATING WITH NARCISSISTS: PEOPLE WHO CANNOT ADMIT BEING WRONG – May 21, 2026
This CME/CLE live/interactive course runs from 12:00pm – 2:10pm on Zoom. It provides 2.0 General CME, 2.0 IPV CME, and .5 Ethics CME hours as well as 2.0 General CLE, 1.5 Mental Health and Wellness CLE, and .5 Ethics CLE hours.
This program identifies traits of people who can’t manage to listen to others, to admit a mistake that may have been made, to apologize, or to move toward the accommodations necessary for a conflict to be resolved. These types of people are often present in relationships where contact is frequent, such as in a family or in the workplace. We will cover topics including: (1) verbal and body language communications, (2) mediation concepts, techniques, and strategies for dealing with narcissists, (3) what a mediator can ethically do when encountering this type of participant, and (4) how to evaluate a dispute to see if mediation is a proper forum for resolution.
