Biographical Info
Sarah deLaurentis is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and County Mediator who specializes in employment and labor matters. Prior to establishing her private law and mediation practice in Florida, she practiced law as an employment and labor counsel in New York, beginning her career as an employment and labor litigator for General Foods Corporation and represented the company in federal litigation as well as in arbitration, mediation, and before the EEOC, NLRB, and other agencies. She went on to become Chief Human Resources Counsel for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company where she provided legal oversight on all aspects of the corporation’s human resources policies, including compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor laws in both a union and non-union workforce environment, supervised in-house legal staff and outside counsel; conducted due diligence in mergers and acquisitions; oversaw WARN Act compliance in workforce reductions and advised senior corporate management regarding executive compensation, severance arrangements, and restrictive covenants.
Sarah has conducted supervisory training programs throughout the country, focusing on good employment practices, and spoken extensively on management’s responsibilities with regard to sexual harassment in the workplace.
Sarah is admitted to the Bar in both New York and Florida, and the federal courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Southern District of Florida. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Dispute Resolution Section of the Florida Bar, Dispute Resolution Section of New York State Bar Association; the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators and Association of South Florida Mediators and Arbitrators.
Sarah obtained her mediation certifications through the Mediation Training Group and is an instructor for the Mediation Training Group in labor and employment matters.
