LET’S TALK ABOUT MEDIATING WITH NARCISSISTS: PEOPLE WHO CANNOT ADMIT BEING WRONG
This CME/CLE course runs from 12:00pm – 2:00pm on Zoom. It provides 2.0 General CME hours, 2.0 IPV CME hours, and .5 Ethics CME hour as well as 2.0 General CLE hours, 1.5 Mental Health and Wellness CLE Hours, and .5 Ethics CLE hour.
This program identifies traits of people who can’t manage to listen to others, to admit a mistake that may have been made, to apologize, or to move toward the accommodations necessary for a conflict to be resolved. These types of people are often present in relationships where contact is frequent, such as in a family or in the workplace. We will cover topics including: (1) verbal and body language communications, (2) mediation concepts, techniques, and strategies for dealing with narcissists, (3) what a mediator can ethically do when encountering this type of participant, and (4) how to evaluate a dispute to see if mediation is a proper forum for resolution.
